At my house, the room where everyone gathers is the kitchen. Comfy banquettes make a cozy place to eat and just hang out. I'm thinking I need to add a built-in seating area to my kitchen too.
Especially during the winter, I camp out in a sunny room. A kitchen table with a window seat is perfect. Add some comfy cushions plus a few throw pillows and you might find me there all day. (Images via here, here, here.)
