If your schedule is as busy as mine, then you probably stock up on the supermarket fast food meals to save time. Finding enough time to cook is a common problem, but an even bigger problem is finding healthy fast food at the grocery. If you want to cut calories and get back in shape, then it's time to watch out for the fake "healthy" foods.
I think I am a pretty good shopper, but as the warning says: Buyer beware. Even some of the products you think are "healthy" options, end up containing excess sugar, fats and calories. Reading the labels is time consuming, but it is worth the effort. The product's name and short description on the packaging is designed to sell the product and not to be helpful. Too often the product packaging is just plain misleading--so read the labels to find out if the product is really healthy.
How can shoppers make smarter and healthier purchases at the grocery? In the TODAY Show video segment below, Natalie Morales talks with David Zinczenko author of Eat This Not That! Supermarket Survival Guide.
