A neighborhood isn't complete unless it has an coffee shop and an ice cream store. Combine them into one and—well, do I need to explain—you have the perfect destination almost any hour of the day!
Every time I make the pilgrimage back to my home state of Minn-e-SO-tah, I have to go to Linden Hills because this neighborhood has it's very own lake, charming shops, and the best ice cream ever scooped in Minneapolis! After a walk around Lake Harriet just head one block east to the family-friendly Linden Hills, here you'll find Sebastian Joe's Ice Cream.

The menu is simple but delicious: bakery goods, fresh roasted coffee and espresso, and the most original ice cream flavors! My personal faves are Praline Home Companion (this is the home state of Garrison Keillor!) Nicollet Pot Hole, and Banana Chocolate Chip.

And you might as well bring your laptop or iPad and stay awhile—there's free WiFi. If you want, pull up a chair by the cozy indoor/outdoor fireplace.
