If you are like me you probably have a box or two filled with scraps of fabric or gently worn clothing that you would like to re-purpose. The book Reinvention: Sewing with Rescued Materials by award-winning blogger Maya Donenfeld is a wonderful guide to working with recycled materials—linen, burlap, wool and more.
Reinventing everyday materials into extraordinary items is my fave. This practical and pretty guide—the photography is awesome—includes patterns as well as step by step directions for making 28 projects. It includes a detailed section on sewing basics and extras including printing on fabric techniques, stencilling and more.
You can order it here or here. Looking for more inspiration, check out Maya's blog and see her make projects. And of course, follow @MayaDonenfeld on Twitter.
NOTE: This is not a sponsored post. My book review is my honest opinion.
