It's hard to resist giving your pooch a snack when they look so cute! Unfortunately many human foods are toxic to dogs.
Even when you don't give them treats your pup will be tempted to get some Halloween goodies for himself. The best idea is to store the candies away from the family pet. (And if your pets are very ingenious and will climb up on tables and counters, then you better lock the candy up.)
Some foods that people love—even foods that are healthy for people—can harm or kill your pet. Something as common as guacamole dip is toxic to dogs because it contains a substance called "persin" according to WebMD.
We know chocolate is bad for Fido, but did you know that meatloaf with onions is very harmful because of the onions? Only a few weeks ago I had to rush my Peke to the vet for an emergency procedure because she climbed up on the kitchen table and ate my granola with raisins. Just four raisins (or grapes) is toxic to a dog.
